# Human-in-the-loop approvals for agent workflows

> Agent workflows can pause at moments you define, ask for approval or a missing detail, and resume where they left off once you answer.

Some steps shouldn't run unattended: sending a draft to a customer, choosing which leads to contact, filling in a detail only you know. Agent workflows can now stop and ask. The run parks with a Paused status, the question appears on your hub and on the execution's page, and once you answer, the agent picks up exactly where it stopped.

### How it works

- **Opt-in per workflow.** You write when to pause, for example "Pause to confirm the draft email before sending," and the agent only gets the pause tool when pausing is on.
- **One question per item.** Three posts needing approval means three questions you page through; the run resumes only when every open question has an answer.
- **No question without a decision.** If a run finds nothing to approve, it finishes without asking.
- **State survives the wait.** The agent's files are saved while paused, and waiting time doesn't count against the run's time limit.

### Where you answer

The hub replaced the home page on April 22, with a Running panel and a Waiting for you panel that collects every open question. Executions open inside the workflow page, with a link you can share.

### Also shipped

- Stop any active execution; stopped runs get their own Cancelled status.
