# Weekly Meta Ads creative fatigue check with fresh AI ad images

> Every Monday at 8am, find the Meta ads whose performance is decaying and get fresh image variants ready to upload, delivered to Slack.

- Workflow type: agent
- Services: Meta Ads, fal.ai, Slack Bot
- Categories: Marketing
- Published: 2026-08-14

## What it does

- Checks your active Meta ads every Monday morning and compares the last seven days against the seven before them.
- Flags the ads showing creative fatigue: people are seeing them too often and clicking them less, while you are still spending real money on them.
- Generates two or three refreshed image variants for each tired ad, keeping your product, brand colours and offer intact while changing the scene and visual hook.
- Posts one Slack summary with each flagged ad, why it looks tired, and links to the new images so your buyer can review and upload them.

## What you'll need

- A Meta Ads account with active ads and a connected Facebook login.
- A fal.ai account for generating the refreshed images.
- A Slack workspace and the channel where your paid social team works.

## Prompt

Every Monday at 8am, check my Meta Ads account for creative fatigue and generate refreshed ad images, so I always have new creative ready before performance decays.

Start with the Meta Ads "List Ads" operation to pull the active ads in my ad account. For each active ad, use "Get Ad Insights" to read impressions, frequency, click through rate and spend across the trailing 14 days, split so you can compare the last 7 days against the previous 7 days.

Flag an ad as fatigued when frequency in the last 7 days has climbed past roughly 3.5, click through rate has dropped 15 percent or more versus the previous 7 days, and spend is still meaningful enough to be worth acting on. Skip any ad with fewer than 1000 impressions in the window, so newly launched creative is never flagged on thin data.

For each fatigued ad, use "List Ad Creatives for Ad" and then "Get Ad Creative" to read the existing creative, including the current image and the headline, primary text and offer.

Then use the fal.ai "Generate or Edit Image with Nano Banana" operation to produce two or three refreshed variants per fatigued ad. Nano Banana edits from an existing image, so feed it the current ad image and instruct it to keep the product, brand colours and offer intact while changing the scene, background or visual hook. fal.ai returns hosted image URLs the buyer can download directly.

Finish by posting one summary to my paid social channel with the Slack Bot "Send a Message" operation. List each fatigued ad with its name, its frequency and click through rate trend across the two weeks, a plain English reason it looks fatigued, and the URLs of the generated variants so the buyer can review and upload them. If nothing is fatigued this week, say so in a single line rather than staying silent.

This workflow only reports and proposes. Never modify the ad account: do not create ad creatives, do not create, edit or pause ads, and do not change budgets. A human media buyer decides what actually goes live.

## How to customize

- Change the thresholds: how often someone can see an ad before it counts as fatigued, and how far click rate has to fall.
- Move the schedule from Monday at 8am to whenever your team plans the week, or run it twice a week on fast moving accounts.
- Ask for more or fewer image variants per ad, or point the summary at a different Slack channel.

## FAQ

### What is creative fatigue?

It is what happens when the same people keep seeing the same ad. They stop noticing it, your click rate drops, and your costs quietly climb even though nothing about your targeting or budget changed.

### Will this change my ads or spend my budget?

No. It only reads your account and proposes new images. It never creates, edits or pauses an ad, and never touches budgets. A person on your team decides what actually goes live.

### Will it flag ads I just launched?

No. Any ad with fewer than 1000 impressions in the two week window is skipped, so new creative gets a fair run before it is judged.

### Do the generated images keep my branding?

Yes. Each image is built from your existing ad image, so the product, brand colours and offer stay intact. What changes is the scene, background and visual hook.

### What happens if nothing looks fatigued that week?

You get a short Slack message saying everything looks healthy, so you always know the check actually ran.
