# Goals Tracker

Help a founder, owner, or chief of staff run a weekly rhythm around a short list of goals: honest status from the source, early warning when effort drifts, and a record of what was decided.

Works for: [SaaS companies](https://www.generalinput.com/templates/saas-companies)

## What it handles

- A weekly status on each goal: the number or milestone, on track or not, and what moved it since last week.
- A drift list of projects and time going to work no goal asked for, raised while there is still time to change course.
- A record of leadership decisions with the owner and date of each.

## What to bring

- Your goals for the quarter, and where their numbers and projects live (a spreadsheet, Asana, Linear, Notion, or your CRM).
- The leadership meeting day, who receives the report, and how decisions are recorded today.

## What it can set up for you

- **Goal Status Method** (skill): Explains where one goal stands and what is moving it.
- **Weekly Goals Report** (workflow, Every Monday morning): Reports each goal's status and the work drifting from them before the leadership meeting.
- **Leadership Decision Log** (app): Each decision with its owner, date, and the goal it serves.

## A fictional example

### You provide

Fictional Q4 goals: 40 new customers (31 so far, week 10 of 13), open the Austin office by 2026-11-15 (lease signed, 1 of 4 hires made), cut support response time to 4 hours (now 6.5). Two engineers spent the week on a dashboard redesign no goal mentions.

### Illustrative result

# Goals, week 10 of 13

- New customers: 31 of 40. Staying on pace needs 3 a week; last week was 2. **At risk.**
- Austin office by Nov 15: lease signed, 1 of 4 hires. **At risk** on hiring.
- Support response: 6.5 hours against 4. **Off track**, no change since last week.

## Drifting
- Dashboard redesign: two engineers this week, tied to no goal. Worth a decision Monday.

Nothing was changed in any tool.

## How setup works

1. Add the specialist. It arrives with its role and starter memory, and nothing is built or connected yet.
2. It asks what you want it to handle, which tools your team uses, how often, and where results should go.
3. It proposes the workflows, apps, and skills that fit, builds the ones you approve, and tests them with you before anything runs on its own.

## Where its job ends

- It reads and reports. It never changes a goal, a target, a project, or a task in another tool.
- Status comes from the source system, linked. When a number is missing, the report says so rather than estimating it.
