The evolution of computing

About

Hi, I'm Jack, founder of General Input.

I started my career building workflow automations. I spent a lot of time in tools like Microsoft Power Automate and Zapier, and later moved into building custom software when teams needed more flexibility.

Over time, I felt like there was always a tradeoff. Traditional automation tools were more accessible, but often tedious to configure, brittle in practice, and hard to maintain. Custom software was far more flexible, but it usually required engineering time that most teams simply do not have.

I think AI changes that.

My belief is that workflows should no longer be designed primarily around drag-and-drop builders, flowchart editors, and manual configuration. The best automations have always looked more like software. Until recently, though, software was too expensive and too slow for most teams to rely on for day-to-day operations.

So I built General Input from the ground up for workflows to be written by AI, then reviewed and understood by humans.

With General Input, you describe what you need to Geni, our AI agent: what to check, which tools to use, what should happen next, and what decisions matter. Geni turns that into a working automation that reads like a document. No flowcharts. No node editor. Just clear, readable steps you can inspect before anything runs.

General Input connects to the tools teams already use, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Linear, GitHub, and many more. It can also handle workflows that go beyond simple app-to-app automation, including research, summarization, enrichment, and context-based decision making.

We built the platform with control and trust in mind. Credentials and API keys are encrypted at rest and never exposed to third parties or LLMs. Geni only touches the systems you give it access to. You can deploy on our cloud or on-prem with your own infrastructure and models, so your data stays where you want it.

If you’re an operator, builder, or automation-minded team, I’d love for you to explore what we’re building.
