General Input launches: AI-written workflow automation
General Input is live in public beta. You describe a job in plain English, and an AI agent turns it into a workflow: a real program that runs on a schedule or in response to events, presented as a document you can read and edit rather than a flowchart of nodes. Read the launch announcement.
What you could do on day one
- Plan first, then build. The builder agent writes a narrative plan with chips for each connected account and setting, waits for your approval, then writes TypeScript and test-runs it in an isolated sandbox.
- No fake data. The builder may not mock responses or hardcode anything user-specific; recipients and search terms become configurable inputs.
- Triggers. Run from the dashboard or by HTTP, on cron schedules, or from Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Forms, Google Sheets, Reddit, RSS, and Stripe.
- A chat agent (then called Geni, today the Chief of Staff) in the dashboard, Slack, and Telegram that runs workflows and does one-off work with your connected accounts.
- Built-in services and models. Web search, scraping, AI, and image generation with no extra keys, and a choice of Claude, Gemini, and MiniMax models.
- Templates. Dozens of ready-made workflows for sales, operations, and customer success.
