Apps: build internal tools and dashboards by describing them
Workflows run in the background, but some work needs a screen. Apps, available to every workspace since June 2, are single-purpose internal tools an agent builds for you: a dashboard over your CRM, a quick lookup across two systems, a one-click action your team runs every day. Describe what you need, and the app builder writes it, tests it against your real accounts, and publishes it to your workspace.
How it works
- A real app. Each app is a React interface rendered in a sandboxed frame, with server-side handlers that call your connected integrations using your stored credentials. Handlers run isolated in a sandbox and are metered by runtime.
- A component library. Apps start from a shared set of tables with sorting and filter chips, tabs, detail views, and settings screens, plus CSV and PDF export.
- Built and checked by the agent. The builder runs handlers against the live app, reads its render errors and handler logs, and confirms each build before handing it over. Handler results can be cached for 15 minutes to keep apps fast.
- Not a workflow. Apps have no triggers or schedules; they connect only the integrations they need.
Apps have grown a lot since, from warm servers and per-viewer identity to agents inside your apps.
