Agent workspaces start in under a second and save in one

Every conversation and workflow run keeps its files in a persistent work folder. That folder now lives on a disk of its own, saved in pieces and fetched only as the agent reads it, so it opens fast, saves fast, and stays fast however many files it holds. A project with hundreds of thousands of installed packages used to take around fifteen minutes to install and seconds to save; it now installs about as fast as on a laptop and saves in about a second.

How it works

  • Opens in under a second. Each save remembers which parts of the folder the agent read first, and the next sandbox fetches those ahead of time, so the first command after a pause answers right away.
  • Saves in about a second. A save pauses writes for about a tenth of a second, then uploads only what changed since the last one while the agent keeps working.
  • Big files stay cheap. Editing part of a file several gigabytes large fetches and saves only the parts that changed.
  • Everything is kept. Links, permissions, and binary files come back exactly as they were saved.

Also shipped

  • Existing work folders move over on their next use, with every file, link, and permission intact.
  • Files the platform adds while no sandbox is running, such as workflow outputs, are waiting in place when the next one starts.
  • Memory, specialist files, uploads, and skills open as they are read instead of being copied in at start, and an agent can now read every specialist you can open and every file attached earlier in the conversation.
