I want an artwork desk for our social content calendar. Our content manager opens it at the start of every week to clear the posts that still have no image.

The main view lists upcoming posts pulled from our Notion content calendar with Query a Data Source, filtered to the next 14 days and sorted by publish date. It opens on a needs artwork view that shows only posts whose artwork field is still empty, with a toggle to see all upcoming posts instead. Each card shows the channel, the publish date, the post copy and the current artwork slot, which is either a thumbnail of what is already attached or an empty state.

Add a my posts filter so each person sees only the posts they own. Match the owner property on the Notion page against the signed in user's email, and remember each user's filter and view choice separately so it survives a reload.

App settings hold the brand once: the colour palette, the font feel, the tone of voice, the Notion data source id for the calendar, and the Google Drive folder id where finished artwork lands. Every generation reads from these so the look stays consistent without anyone retyping it. On first run, offer to create the destination folder with Create Folder, and use List Files to confirm the folder is reachable before saving the setting.

A Make artwork button on each card starts a background agent. The agent reads the post copy and the channel, lifts the hook out of the copy to use as the in-image headline (the sharpest short line, not the whole post), and generates three options with Generate (Ideogram 4.0), feeding in the brand palette, font feel and tone from settings. It can run Generate Magic Prompt (Ideogram 4.0) first to enrich the base prompt before generating. The agent writes its three options back into the app so the card can show them, and the card should show a working state while the agent runs.

Match the aspect ratio to what the channel actually needs: landscape for LinkedIn, square for the main Instagram grid, vertical for stories and Reels. Ideogram treats resolution and aspect_ratio as mutually exclusive, so the channel mapping must set exactly one of them, and aspect_ratio is the right one to use here.

When an option comes back with is_image_safe false, its url is empty. Show that option as failed with a short explanation and a regenerate button rather than a broken image, and leave the other two options usable.

Ideogram image links expire after a limited time, so download the bytes of all three options as soon as they are generated and keep them in app storage. That is what lets the picker still render correctly later in the week.

When I pick a winner, the handler downloads the bytes, uploads the file to the shared Google Drive folder with Upload File (Multipart) under a name built from the post title and channel, and then writes back to the Notion page with Update a Page: the Drive link, the exact prompt that produced the image, and the seed. Write the Drive link and never the Ideogram link, because the Ideogram one expires. Storing the seed lets a follow-up post in the same series match the look. Re-read the page with Retrieve a Page after the write so the card immediately shows a filled artwork slot. If a file is ever larger than the 5MB multipart ceiling, fall back to Upload File (Resumable).

Keep the two rejected options visible for a week after the pick, so I can change my mind and promote one of them, which runs the same upload and write-back path. After seven days, clear them and their cached bytes.

Keep this a picking surface rather than another auto generator. Nothing generates on a schedule, artwork is only made when someone presses Make artwork, and nothing is written back to Notion until a person picks a winner.
