Auto-generate on-brand FLUX images for your Airtable content calendar

When a row flips to Ready for image, an agent designs a FLUX.2 prompt using your brand references, hosts the image on Drive, updates the row, and posts a Slack preview.

Watch my Airtable content-calendar table on a poll trigger for new or updated records. When a row's status flips to "Ready for image", run this workflow for that single row. Ignore rows in any other status so we do not regenerate work already approved.

For the triggering row, read: the caption or post copy, the brand tone or voice notes, the target aspect ratio (for example 1:1, 4:5, 16:9), and any reference image URLs the marketer has attached (logos, past hero shots, product photography, character portraits). These fields already exist in the base — do not add new fields, just work with whatever the user maps in.

Design a FLUX prompt from those inputs. Fold the brand tone and caption context into a concrete visual description — subject, setting, mood, lighting, composition. Do not paste the caption verbatim; translate it into a scene.

Call Black Forest Labs "Generate or Edit Image — FLUX.2 [pro]" with the designed prompt, the row's aspect ratio, and the reference image URLs (up to 8) so brand assets and character continuity carry through the series. Wait for the polling call to return the final result.

The result includes a `result.sample` URL that is a signed delivery link and expires roughly ten minutes after generation. Immediately fetch that image and upload it to Google Drive using "Upload File (Multipart)" into a designated brand-images folder. Name the file after the Airtable row (for example the record's title or slug plus a timestamp) so it is easy to find later. Capture the persistent Drive URL from the response.

Then call Airtable "Update Record" on the same record to write the Drive URL into the Image column and flip the status field from "Ready for image" to "Image ready".

Finally, post a preview into the marketing review channel with Slack "Send a Message". The message should show the image, name the campaign or row title, mention the caption, and link back to the Airtable record so the marketer can approve or bounce it with one click.

If FLUX returns an error, if the reference images cannot be fetched, or if the upload to Drive fails, do not update Airtable status. Instead post a Slack message to the same channel naming the row and the failure reason so a human can intervene.

What does this prompt do?

  • Watches your Airtable content-calendar table and springs into action the moment a row is marked ready for image.
  • Reads the row's caption, brand tone, aspect ratio, and any reference image links, then designs a FLUX prompt that keeps your look and characters consistent.
  • Saves the finished image to a persistent Google Drive link so it does not expire, writes that link into the row, and flips the status to Image ready.
  • Posts a Slack preview into your review channel so a marketer can approve or ask for a revision.

What do I need to use this?

  • An Airtable base with a content-calendar table that has a status field, a caption field, an image field, and optional brand tone and reference-image fields.
  • A Black Forest Labs account to generate images with FLUX.2 [pro].
  • A Google Drive folder where the finished images should be saved.
  • A Slack workspace and the channel you use for creative review.

How can I customize it?

  • Change the status value that triggers the workflow (for example Ready for image, Needs art, Queued) or the destination status (Image ready, In review).
  • Point at a different Slack channel, or route by campaign so each brand or client gets its own preview thread.
  • Swap the FLUX model tier (for example FLUX.2 [max] for higher fidelity, or FLUX.2 [klein] for faster drafts) and adjust the number of brand reference images you pass through.

FAQs

Do I need to write the image prompt myself?
No. The agent reads the caption, brand tone, and aspect ratio from the row and writes a tailored FLUX prompt for each piece of content. You just fill in the fields you already use.
How does it keep images on-brand across a series?
You can attach up to eight reference image links on each row (logos, past hero shots, character portraits, product photos). The agent passes them to FLUX.2 [pro] so recurring assets and styles carry through the series.
Why does it save the image to Google Drive instead of using the generated link directly?
The link returned by the image model is temporary and expires shortly after generation. Saving to Drive gives you a persistent URL you can safely paste into Airtable, Slack, and downstream campaigns.
Can I approve or reject an image before it goes live?
Yes. The Slack preview is a review step. Nothing publishes automatically. A marketer can eyeball the image and either move the row forward or flip it back to request a revision.
Does this replace a designer?
No. It handles the volume of routine content-calendar art so your designer can focus on hero campaigns and brand direction. You stay in control of what actually ships.
