Build me a competitor hiring intelligence board I can open before strategy and pipeline meetings. It runs on a watchlist of companies I maintain myself, and the data comes from Coresignal. This is an interactive board rather than a scheduled report: I browse it, drill into it, and compare companies inside it.

The landing view is a grid of watchlist cards, one card per company. Each card shows the company name, its current headcount, a headcount trend indicator comparing the latest figure against the previous stored snapshot, the number of currently open job postings, and the top three hiring departments by posting volume. Company details come from Coresignal Collect Company by ID (Multi-source). The open job count and the department breakdown come from Coresignal Search Jobs (Filter) scoped to that company.

Adding a company is a single paste-the-website box at the top of the board. When I paste a URL, resolve it with Coresignal Enrich Company by Website (Multi-source), show me the matched company so I can confirm it is the right one, and save its Coresignal company ID to the watchlist. If the website does not resolve to a company, say so plainly and let me try another URL. Removing a company is an action on the card itself with a confirmation step. Persist the watchlist server side and share it across the whole team, so anyone who opens the board sees the same companies.

Clicking a card opens a company view. The main element there is a job postings table backed by Coresignal Search Jobs (Filter), with filters for department, seniority, location and posted date that I can combine. Each row shows title, department, seniority, location and posted date. Expanding a row fetches the full posting description with Coresignal Collect Job by ID (Multi-source), and only when I expand that row rather than for every row in the table. Above the table, show a headcount trend chart drawn from the headcount history on the stored company record.

A compare mode lets me select two to five watchlist companies and put them side by side on hiring velocity by function, so I can see who is staffing up sales versus engineering versus support. Group each company's open postings by function, show the counts next to each other, and include how each function has moved since the previous refresh. Keep the layout readable at five companies.

Every table view needs an Export this view button. It takes the rows currently visible after my filters, creates a spreadsheet with Google Sheets Create Spreadsheet named for the company or comparison plus the date, writes a header row, and appends the rows with Google Sheets Append Values. Then show me a link to the new spreadsheet so I can drop the numbers into a board deck. Export what is on screen with my active filters applied, not the unfiltered dataset.

One important constraint: Coresignal deducts a credit for every search and collect response, so cache the watchlist company records and job counts server side instead of re-collecting them on every page load. Show a last refreshed timestamp on the board, and give me a refresh control both on each card and for the whole watchlist, so I decide when to spend credits. Every refresh should store the headcount figure it saw, so the trend indicator and the headcount chart have history to draw on.

What does this prompt do?

  • Opens on a grid of watchlist cards, one per competitor, showing current headcount, whether it is growing or shrinking, how many roles are open, and which departments are hiring most.
  • Adds a company by pasting its website and removes one straight from its card. The watchlist is shared, so everyone on the team opens the same board.
  • Drills into any company for a job postings table you can filter by department, seniority, location and posting date, with full descriptions on demand and a headcount trend chart.
  • Puts two to five competitors side by side to compare hiring by function, so you can see who is staffing up sales versus engineering.
  • Exports whatever you are looking at, filters included, to a fresh Google Sheet you can paste into a board deck.

What do I need to use this?

  • A Coresignal account with an API key and available credits
  • A Google account, so exports can be saved to Google Sheets
  • The websites of the competitors you want to start watching

How can I customize it?

  • Change how roles are grouped into departments and seniority levels to match how your team talks about functions
  • Set how far back the job postings table looks by default, for example the last 30 or 90 days
  • Decide how often the board refreshes company data, which controls how many Coresignal credits it uses
  • Pick which columns land in the spreadsheet export

FAQs

Where does the hiring data come from?
From Coresignal, which collects public company profiles and job postings. You paste a competitor's website and the board looks up the matching company record, its headcount and its currently open roles. Nothing is scraped on your side.
Does the whole team see the same watchlist?
Yes. The watchlist is saved with the app rather than per person, so when one person adds or removes a competitor, everyone who opens the board sees the change.
Will opening the board burn through my Coresignal credits?
No. Coresignal charges credits per lookup, so the board saves company records and job counts after each refresh and reads from that saved copy when you open it. You refresh a single card or the whole watchlist when you actually want fresh numbers, and the board shows when it last updated.
How many companies can I compare at once?
Between two and five. That range keeps the side by side view readable while still covering a realistic competitive set.
Can I get the numbers out for a board deck?
Yes. The Export this view button writes exactly the rows you are looking at, filters applied, into a brand new Google Sheet and hands you the link.
How is this different from a monthly competitor hiring email?
An email gives you one ranked snapshot on a schedule. This is a board you open whenever you need it, with a watchlist you control, individual job postings you can read, and a compare mode for putting rivals head to head.
