I want an internal review app that my hiring team opens every morning to clear the backlog of Hireflix video interviews waiting on a decision. The edge over the native Hireflix UI is a single cross-position review queue plus an AI scorecard on demand, so reviewers stop working role by role and stop doing manual filtering to find who still needs watching.

The main view is the review queue. Load every active position with the Hireflix List Positions operation, then for each position call List Interviews for Position, and filter the combined list down to interviews the candidate has actually completed but nobody has scored yet. Show one row per candidate with their name, the role they applied for, when they finished recording, and how long they have been sitting unreviewed. Let me sort by longest waiting and filter down to a single position. Hireflix list queries use cursor pagination, so pass pagination: { limit, lastCursor } and keep paging with the lastCursor returned under the list wrapper until every page has been collected.

Clicking a row opens the candidate detail view. Fetch that interview with Fetch Interview Results and lay it out question by question: for each question, show the video answer in a player on one side and the written transcript for that same answer on the other, so a reviewer can rewatch a specific portion of an answer while reading along. Interview video URLs from Hireflix are signed and expire after 14 days, so the app must fetch fresh URLs from Fetch Interview Results every time the detail view opens and must never store video URLs in its own database.

From that detail view I want to finish the review without ever leaving the app. A rating control writes the reviewer score with Score Interview. A comment box posts reviewer notes with Comment on Interview. A shortlist toggle flips the finalist flag with Shortlist Interview. After any of these, refresh the interview so both the detail view and the queue reflect the new state, and drop the candidate out of the pending queue once they have been scored.

Reviewers work in parallel, so the app has to prevent duplicate effort. Record in the app database which app user scored, commented on, or shortlisted each interview along with the timestamp, and surface that on both the queue row and the detail header, for example "Reviewed by Dana". When someone opens a candidate detail view, mark that candidate as being reviewed by that person so other reviewers can see it is already being looked at before they start watching.

Add a "Draft scorecard" button on the candidate detail view that kicks off a background agent for that interview. The agent fetches the interview with Fetch Interview Results, reads the transcripts of every answer, and writes a structured scorecard with a section for communication, relevant experience, and role fit. Each section needs a short assessment plus direct quotes from the transcript as supporting evidence, and the agent must not assert anything that is not grounded in what the candidate actually said. It posts the finished scorecard back onto the interview with Comment on Interview so it is visible inside Hireflix too, and it returns a suggested overall rating that the app stores against the interview and displays in the detail view.

The suggested rating is a recommendation only, never an automatic write. Show it beside an Accept button that commits it with Score Interview, and let the reviewer enter their own score instead to override it. Show the agent's progress in the app while it is running, and render the scorecard inline in the detail view when it lands so the reviewer can read it next to the videos.

Add a "Share shortlist" action on the queue view, scoped to one position. It gathers the interviews currently flagged as shortlisted for that position and posts a summary into our hiring channel with the Slack Send a Message operation. The message should name the position, list each shortlisted candidate with their score and a one-line note, say who shared it, and use Slack mrkdwn formatting so it reads cleanly. Let me pick the channel it posts to.

One critical technical note about the Hireflix API: every response comes back as HTTP 200 even when the call failed. Handlers must check the top-level errors array on every request, and inspect __typename on mutation results to distinguish a success shape from a typed error such as PositionNotFoundError before treating a write as done. Surface a clear failure message in the app rather than silently letting a reviewer believe their score, comment, or shortlist saved.

What does this prompt do?

  • See every candidate still waiting on a review across all of your open roles in one queue, instead of clicking into each position separately.
  • Watch each video answer next to its written transcript, question by question, and rewatch any part of an answer before you decide.
  • Score, comment, and shortlist without leaving the app, with a clear marker showing which teammate already reviewed a candidate so two people never double up.
  • Ask for an AI scorecard on any candidate covering communication, relevant experience, and role fit with quoted evidence, then share the finished shortlist to your hiring channel in one click.

What do I need to use this?

  • A Hireflix account with admin access, so the app can read your positions and candidate interviews.
  • At least one active role with candidates who have finished recording their interview.
  • A Slack workspace and the channel where your hiring team talks about candidates.

How can I customize it?

  • Choose which roles feed the queue: every active position, or only the handful you are actively hiring for.
  • Change what counts as needing review, for example only showing interviews finished in the last two weeks or hiding anyone a teammate already scored.
  • Adjust what the AI scorecard grades by swapping in your own criteria, such as culture add or technical depth.

FAQs

Do I still need to work inside Hireflix?
No. Scores, comments, and shortlist flags you set in the app are written straight back into Hireflix, so your Hireflix account stays the system of record and anyone who opens it there sees the same decisions.
Can several reviewers use it at the same time?
Yes, and that is part of the point. The app shows who already scored or commented on each candidate and marks when someone is currently reviewing one, so two people do not spend their morning watching the same interview.
Does the AI decide who gets hired?
No. The scorecard button drafts an assessment with quotes pulled from the candidate's own answers and suggests a rating, but a person always accepts or overrides it. The draft is also posted as a comment on the interview so your team can see the reasoning.
Will older interviews still play?
Yes. Hireflix video links stop working after about two weeks, so the app always loads a fresh link from Hireflix the moment you open a candidate rather than saving old ones. Playback keeps working no matter how long a candidate has been in the queue.
Can I use this across more than one open role?
Yes. The queue spans every active position at once, which is the main thing it adds over reviewing role by role. You can still filter down to a single role when you want to focus.
