See who actually joined your recurring Google Meet calls

Build me an attendance board for our recurring Google Meet calls that shows who was actually in the room, not just who was invited. My team runs the same standups, client check-ins and project syncs week after week, and the calendar tells me nothing about whether people really showed up. The people who open this are the meeting organizers and team leads who own those series.

The main view is a list of past meetings, one row per occurrence, so every instance of a recurring series appears separately. Each row shows the meeting title, the date and time, the series it belongs to if it has one, and an invited versus joined split such as 8 invited, 5 joined. Let me filter by date range, by calendar and by series, and sort by the size of the gap between invited and joined so the worst attended meetings float to the top.

Build the invited side from Google Calendar. Use List Calendars so I can pick which calendars to track, then List Events to pull past events with their attendee lists and RSVP status, plus the recurring event id so occurrences can be grouped into a series. Build the joined side from Google Meet: List Conference Records to find the conferences that actually happened, List Participants for each record, and List Participant Sessions for each participant to get the real join and leave timestamps, including people who left and came back.

Every row flags three problems. Ghosts are people who accepted the invite and never joined at all. Late arrivals are people whose first join is more than five minutes after the scheduled start. Drive-bys are people whose total time in the room across all their sessions is under five minutes. Make both thresholds a setting I can change. Show the count of each flag on the row and highlight rows carrying several.

Clicking a meeting opens a per person timeline: one lane per invitee showing the scheduled window, with the actual session bars from their join and leave times drawn on top, so I can see at a glance who came in twenty minutes late and who dropped out halfway. List everyone who never joined underneath, with their RSVP status next to their name.

A per series tab shows the attendance trend across occurrences: joined versus invited charted over time, an attendance rate per person across the whole series so I can see who has made two of the last eight, and the average late minutes per occurrence.

Put an Export button on both the meeting list and the series view that appends the attendance register to a Google Sheet using Append Values, one row per person per meeting with the meeting name, date, invitee email, RSVP status, whether they joined, first join time, total minutes in the room, and which flags applied.

Add a Catch up the people who missed button on each meeting. It kicks off a background agent that reads that meeting's transcript through List Transcripts and List Transcript Entries, works out what was decided and what was assigned to whom, and writes a short personalized catch-up brief for each person who did not join, covering the decisions that affect them and anything assigned to them by name. The agent stages each brief as a Gmail draft with Create a Draft addressed to that person, then lands the drafts back in the app so I can read them side by side with the meeting before anyone sends. Show the drafts in the app with a link to open each one in Gmail, and never send automatically.

Two things matter for how this gets built. First, Google Meet deletes conference records 30 days after a conference ends, so the app must snapshot attendance into its own store as it reads it rather than querying Meet live for older meetings. When the board loads, refresh anything inside the retention window from Meet and serve everything older from the saved snapshot. Second, match Meet participants to calendar invitees by email address. Participants who cannot be matched, such as phone dial-ins or people joining from a personal account, should still appear on the meeting as guests rather than being dropped.
