Turn Mailjet email clicks into ranked HubSpot follow-ups
Twice a day we spot the people clicking your pricing and demo pages, create a follow-up task for their owner, and post a ranked recap to Slack.
Twice every weekday, on a cron schedule at 9am and 3pm, read who has been clicking links in my Mailjet emails and turn the genuinely interested ones into sales follow-ups in HubSpot, with a ranked recap posted to Slack. Run this on a schedule rather than on every individual click event, because comparing the pages one person clicked across a whole window is what makes the ranking possible.
Start by pulling the click events since the last run using Mailjet's "Get click statistics" operation, and group them by contact. Each click event gives you a contact ID, the URL that was clicked, the campaign, and a timestamp. Resolve every contact ID to a real email address and profile using "List and retrieve contacts" plus "List and retrieve contact data", so the rest of the run works with actual people rather than internal identifiers.
Judge intent rather than alerting on every click. Clicks on pricing, demo, booking, and case study URLs count as strong signals. Blog posts and footer links count as weak signals and are not enough on their own. Repeat clicks on the same link, or clicks across several different pages within one window, push someone higher up the ranking. Only the people who clear the bar move forward.
For each person clearing the bar, look them up in HubSpot with "Search Contacts" to get their lifecycle stage and record owner. Skip anyone who is already a customer and anyone on a closed lost record, since those clicks are not new sales opportunities.
For everyone still remaining, create a same-day follow-up using HubSpot's "Create Task", assigned to the record owner so it lands in the right rep's queue. Put the clicked pages, the click count, and a one-line suggested opener in the task body, so the rep can act on it without going back to the email tool to reconstruct what happened.
Finally, post one Slack message using the Slack Bot "Send a Message" operation. List the flagged people ranked by intent, strongest first, showing what each person clicked and why they were flagged. Keep it to a single message per run so the channel gets two focused updates a day and nothing more.
Bake in three rules. Cap each run at the ten strongest people so the team is not buried. Do not flag the same person twice inside seven days, which means keeping a persistent record of who was flagged and when so the rule holds across runs. And when a clicker has no matching HubSpot record, do not create a task for them; list them in the Slack recap as an unknown contact worth researching instead.
Make the list of high intent pages an obvious knob I can edit, since which URLs mean someone is ready to talk differs from business to business. Default it to pricing, demo, booking, and case study pages. Also let me adjust the per-run cap, the seven day quiet period, and the schedule itself without rewriting the logic.
What does this prompt do?
- Checks twice every weekday, at 9am and 3pm, for people who clicked links in your marketing emails.
- Separates real buying signals from casual reading. Pricing, demo, booking and case study pages count for far more than a blog link, and repeat visits or several pages in one sitting push someone up the list.
- Creates a same-day follow-up task for the right rep in your CRM, with the pages the person clicked, how often they clicked, and a suggested opening line.
- Posts one ranked Slack message per run, and flags interested clickers who are not in your CRM yet as unknown contacts worth researching.
What do I need to use this?
- A Mailjet account that you send your marketing email from.
- A HubSpot account with your contacts and record owners already set up.
- A Slack workspace and a channel where the sales team wants the recap.
How can I customize it?
- Tell it which pages on your site mean someone is ready to talk. Pricing, demo, booking and case study pages are the default, but you can swap in any URLs that matter for your business.
- Change the timing and the cap. Two runs a day with a maximum of ten people each is the default, but you can run it once a day or raise the limit.
- Adjust the quiet period and the skip rules, such as how many days before the same person can be flagged again, or which types of records get left alone.
