Build an agent workflow that runs every Friday at 3pm and produces a weekly AI search visibility (GEO) gap report for our marketing team. The final output is a Notion content brief plus a Slack summary.

Trigger: a cron schedule, every Friday at 3:00pm in the user's timezone.

Step 1 — Load the watchlist. Use Notion's Query a Data Source operation against a database called "GEO Watchlist". Each row has a Domain (text) and a Role (own vs competitor). Return all rows and split them into our own domain(s) and the competitor set.

Step 2 — Pull current visibility for every domain. For each row, call Nexuscale's Check AI Visibility (GEO) operation and capture the full visibility profile: the overall score, the prompts / queries the domain is cited on, and the topics it appears under. Handle 404 (no match) gracefully by noting the domain has no visibility yet, and back off on 429 or 402 (credit quota exhausted) with a clear message in the final output.

Step 3 — Compare. For each competitor, diff their prompts and topics against ours and compute three things: (a) queries where competitors are cited and we are not (biggest gaps), (b) topics where two or more competitors consistently show up but we do not (topics competitors own), and (c) any queries or topics where our position improved compared to the previous run, if prior data is available.

Step 4 — Draft the brief. Use Notion's Create a Page operation to create a new page under the parent page "Weekly GEO Reports". Title it "GEO Gap Report — <week of Monday's date>". Structure the page with these sections, each backed by concrete cited queries pulled from the Nexuscale response:

  • Biggest gaps — the specific AI-search queries where competitors are cited and we are missing entirely.

  • Topics competitors own — clusters where competitors are consistently cited over us.

  • Suggested article angles to close the gap — 3 to 5 concrete content ideas tied to the queries above, written for a content strategist, not a data analyst.

  • Week over week wins — any queries or topics where we improved, if we have prior data.

Step 5 — Announce it. Use Slack's Send a Message operation to post to the marketing channel. The message should link to the new Notion page and call out the top 3 gaps in one line each (query, which competitor owns it, one-line angle). Keep the Slack copy tight and actionable, not a data dump.

Tone for the Notion brief: actionable for content strategists. Frame every gap as a content opportunity, not a leaderboard stat. Cite the actual queries and topics returned by Nexuscale so the reader can see the evidence.

Inputs the user should configure at setup time: the Notion GEO Watchlist database, the Notion parent page for Weekly GEO Reports, and the Slack channel for the summary.

Additional information

What does this prompt do?
  • Reads a Notion watchlist of your own domain plus the competitors you want to track.
  • Pulls the current AI search visibility profile for each domain, including which prompts and topics they show up on.
  • Finds the queries you are missing, the topics competitors consistently own, and any positions where you gained ground week over week.
  • Writes a fresh content brief page in Notion with the biggest gaps, the topics competitors own, and suggested article angles to close them.
  • Posts a Slack summary to your marketing channel that links to the brief and calls out the top three gaps.
What do I need to use this?
  • A Notion workspace with a database called GEO Watchlist that has a Domain field and a Role field marking each row as own or competitor.
  • A parent Notion page called Weekly GEO Reports where the new brief will be filed.
  • A Nexuscale account with AI visibility access.
  • A Slack workspace and the channel where the marketing team wants the weekly recap.
How can I customize it?
  • Change the schedule if Friday at 3pm is not when your content team plans the following week.
  • Swap the Slack channel or add extra recipients, for example a content lead in a DM.
  • Adjust the sections of the Notion brief, for example add a Wins section for topics where you overtook a competitor.

Frequently asked questions

What is a GEO gap report?
GEO stands for generative engine optimization. The report compares how often your domain is cited by AI search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity against your competitors, and highlights the questions and topics where you are missing.
Do I have to keep the watchlist in Notion?
Notion is the default because most marketing teams already run their content calendar there. You can point the workflow at any list of domains you maintain, and swap Notion for another source when you set it up.
How does the workflow know which domain is ours?
The GEO Watchlist database has a Role field. Rows marked own are treated as your side, and rows marked competitor are compared against them.
Will this replace our current SEO reporting?
No. This focuses on how AI search engines cite your content, not classic web search rankings. It is a companion to your existing SEO reports, not a replacement.
Can I run it more often than weekly?
Yes. Weekly on Friday afternoon is the default so content strategists can plan the next week, but you can move it to Monday morning, run it daily, or trigger it on demand.
