Weekly AI video posted to TikTok and Instagram Reels
Every Monday at 8am, an agent writes a fresh video concept, generates it with fal.ai, and posts it to TikTok and Instagram Reels with tailored captions.
Every Monday at 8am in my timezone, run this agent to produce and publish one fresh short-form video for social.
Start by reading my content pillars and running past-topics list from the Notion page (or Google Sheet) I will point you at. Use Notion's Query a Data Source, or Google Sheets Get Values, to load both. Pick one topic that is NOT already on the past-topics list and that clearly maps to one of my content pillars. Write a punchy 8 to 15 second script plus a visual concept for it. Match my brand voice.
Generate the video with fal.ai. Prefer Generate Video with Google Veo 3 (fal-ai/veo3) when the concept benefits from native audio or spoken narration. Use Generate Video with Kling (fal-ai/kling-video/v1/standard) when I supply a reference image and want image-to-video motion. Fall back to Generate Video with MiniMax Hailuo if I want a lower-cost render. Wait for the fal.ai job to finish and capture the resulting MP4 URL.
Publish to TikTok. First call Query Creator Info to confirm whether the connected account is allowed to publish publicly. If yes, use Direct Post Video with a caption plus 3 to 5 tight hashtags tuned to TikTok's audience, then call Fetch Publish Status until it reports PUBLISH_COMPLETE. If Direct Post is not permitted because the app is not audited or the creator can only post privately, fall back to Upload Video to Inbox (Draft) so I can finish the post from the TikTok app. Even on days when Direct Post succeeds, always leave one Upload Video to Inbox (Draft) as a safety net.
Publish to Instagram Reels. Instagram only publishes from a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. Call Create Media Container with media_type=REELS and the public MP4 URL from fal.ai, together with an Instagram-tailored caption (a longer hook and 5 to 10 hashtags mixing broad and niche). Poll the container's status_code with Get Media until it reads FINISHED, then call Publish Media with the returned creation id.
At the end of the run, append the new topic and the caption I posted back to the Notion page (Create a Page) or Google Sheet (Append Values) so next Monday's run does not repeat it.
Tailor captions per platform. TikTok favors short punchy openers and a small hashtag set. Instagram favors a slightly longer hook, a light call to action, and a broader hashtag mix. Do not just copy the same caption to both.
If any step fails (fal.ai queue error, TikTok reports spam_risk or scope_not_authorized, Instagram container never reaches FINISHED, Facebook Page link is missing), stop and message me with what broke and which step so I can fix it before next week's run.
Additional information
What does this prompt do?
- Picks a fresh topic every Monday morning tied to your brand's content pillars, checking a running list so nothing repeats
- Writes a punchy 8 to 15 second script and a visual concept, then generates the video with fal.ai (Google Veo 3 for narration, Kling for image-to-video motion, MiniMax as a low-cost fallback)
- Publishes the finished clip to TikTok and Instagram Reels with captions and hashtags tuned per platform
- Always leaves a TikTok inbox draft as a fallback in case direct posting is not permitted for your account
- Appends the new topic back to your Notion page or Google Sheet so next week's video stays original
What do I need to use this?
- A fal.ai account (video generations bill against your fal.ai credit balance)
- A TikTok Business or Creator account connected to your workspace
- An Instagram Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page you manage
- A Notion page or Google Sheet that lists your content pillars and past topics
- Optionally, a reference image if you want to use image-to-video motion instead of pure text-to-video
How can I customize it?
- Change the day or time, or run it twice a week if you want two videos
- Swap between Google Veo 3, Kling, and MiniMax depending on the look and the per-clip cost
- Tune the caption style, hashtag count, and tone separately for TikTok and Instagram
- Point it at a different Notion page or Sheet to run one instance per brand
