Every Monday at 9am, tell me how my social presence stacked up against my competitors last week, so I walk into the week planning meeting with an actual answer rather than a vague feeling.

Start by using Agorapulse Get Workspace Profiles to resolve my connected profiles. Work only with my Facebook Page and my Instagram business profile. Agorapulse competitor tracking supports those two profile types only, so skip any other network such as LinkedIn, X, TikTok or YouTube entirely rather than attempting a competitor lookup that cannot succeed.

Use a window covering the previous seven days ending yesterday: since is the Monday of last week and until is Sunday. Pass both as explicit plain dates on every report call, because the Agorapulse report operations require since and until and will not infer them. Do not ask for today's figures. Agorapulse synchronizes competitor data once daily, so yesterday is the freshest complete data available, and a same-day request returns an incomplete or empty picture.

For each of the two profiles, call Agorapulse Get Competitors to list the competitors tracked for that profile, then call Get Competitor Report for the same seven day window to pull their numbers. Then call Agorapulse Get Content Report for my own profile over the identical window, so my performance and theirs are measured across the same days and the comparison is like for like.

Post the result to Slack with Send a Message. Keep it short and opinionated, around 200 words at most. Lead with the single biggest change since last week in one sentence: the thing that actually moved, not a recap of every metric. Then rank us against each competitor on follower growth, posting volume and engagement. Explicitly flag where we are losing ground, and wherever a competitor is beating us, say what they posted that worked, naming the format, topic or cadence visible in their content. Close with one concrete recommendation for the coming week.

Then append the week's numbers to my Google Sheets tracking tab using Append Values, one row per competitor per week, plus one row for my own profile so the baseline sits alongside them. Use these columns: week start date, week end date, network, profile name, competitor name, follower count, follower growth, posts published, total engagement, and engagement per post. Always append, never overwrite existing rows, so the numbers build into a trend line over months rather than vanishing into chat history.

Handle the thin cases honestly. If a profile has no competitors tracked, say so in the Slack message instead of silently skipping it. If a report comes back empty for the window, call out the gap rather than reporting zeros as though they were real results.

What does this prompt do?

  • Pulls last week's numbers for your Facebook Page and Instagram business profile alongside every competitor you already track in Agorapulse.
  • Posts a short, opinionated Slack summary that leads with the single biggest change since last week instead of a wall of metrics.
  • Ranks you against each competitor on follower growth, posting volume and engagement, and flags exactly where you are losing ground and what those competitors posted that worked.
  • Adds one row per competitor per week to a Google Sheet, so the numbers build into a trend line over months instead of vanishing into chat history.

What do I need to use this?

  • An Agorapulse account with competitors already tracked for your Facebook Page or Instagram business profile
  • A Slack workspace and a channel where the Monday summary should land
  • A Google Sheet with a tab set aside for the weekly tracking rows
  • Worth knowing: competitor tracking in Agorapulse covers Facebook Pages and Instagram business profiles only, so those are the profiles this report compares

How can I customize it?

  • Change the day and time, for example a Friday afternoon wrap up instead of a Monday morning briefing
  • Send it to a different Slack channel, or as a direct message to just yourself
  • Adjust what the ranking leads with, or add an extra callout for any week where a competitor overtakes you on a metric

FAQs

Does this work for LinkedIn, X or TikTok profiles?
No. Competitor tracking in Agorapulse is available for Facebook Pages and Instagram business profiles only, so the scorecard covers those two. Any other social profiles you have connected are skipped rather than reported on with missing numbers.
How current are the numbers?
Agorapulse refreshes competitor data once a day, so the report covers the seven days ending yesterday. That is the freshest complete picture available, and it is why this runs on Monday morning about last week rather than trying to report on today.
Do I need to add competitors in Agorapulse first?
Yes. The report reads whichever competitors you already track for each profile. If you have not added any for a profile yet, the Monday summary tells you that directly instead of quietly coming back empty.
Will the Slack message be a huge wall of metrics?
No, that is the whole point. It opens with the single biggest change since last week and stays short and opinionated. The full detail goes into the spreadsheet, where you can look it up when you need it.
Can I see how we are trending over months, not just week to week?
Yes. Every run appends new rows to your tracking tab rather than overwriting anything, so after a couple of months you have a clean history you can chart.
