Weekly content brief generator from social listening
Every Friday afternoon, turn the past two weeks of social conversation in your category into 3 to 5 ready-to-pitch content briefs in a fresh Google Doc.
Build me a weekly content-brief generator that runs every Friday at 2pm Eastern on a cron trigger. The goal is to surface what audiences in our category are actually talking about over the past 14 days and turn those conversations into a small stack of ready-to-pitch content brief drafts that our editors can react to over the weekend.
At each run, do the following in order:
1. Use Infegy's Get Topics Analysis to run a topic / theme analysis on posts matching a Starscape query scoped to our category or topic area over the trailing 14 days. The query should pull back automatically clustered topics with size and sentiment for each cluster. Pick the most interesting clusters: a mix of large-and-rising, sharply positive, sharply negative, and surprising ones. Aim for roughly five to eight clusters to dig into.
2. For the same 14-day Starscape query (and optionally narrowed to each interesting cluster), call Infegy's Generate AI Summary to extract narrative through-lines: what the audience tension is, where the conversation is moving, and any recurring framings or comparisons people use.
3. For each interesting cluster, call Infegy's Download Post Records to pull a small sample of representative post records (body, sentiment, source) so we can quote real social voices in the briefs. Don't pull the full 250k cap; a few dozen per cluster is plenty.
4. Synthesize the topics, AI summaries, and sample posts into 3 to 5 ready-to-pitch content brief drafts. Each brief should include: a working title, the underlying audience tension in one or two sentences, a suggested format (essay, listicle, explainer, video, social thread, etc.), three to five key data points to cite (cluster size, sentiment shift, notable entities, source mix), and one or two short quoted social voices with attribution to platform / source.
5. Use Google Docs Create Document to spin up a fresh doc titled something like "Content briefs — week of <Monday's date>". Then use Batch Update Document to populate it: a short intro with the date range and a one-paragraph state-of-the-conversation summary, then each brief as its own H2 section with subheadings for Audience tension, Suggested format, Key data points, and Quoted voices.
6. Finally, use Slack's Send a Message to post into our content / editorial channel with a short blurb ("Fresh content briefs for next week — pick what you want to commission") and the link to the new Google Doc, so editors can react with emoji, drop comments, and claim briefs.
Inputs I should be able to configure when I install this: the category / topic / keyword scope of the Starscape query, the lookback window (default 14 days), the run cadence and time, the target Slack channel, and the desired number of briefs (default 3 to 5). If a run produces no interesting clusters (for example a slow news week), still post in Slack with a short note saying so rather than silently skipping.
Additional information
What does this prompt do?
- Scans the past 14 days of social conversation in your category or topic area and clusters it into the themes audiences are actually talking about, with size and sentiment for each cluster.
- Pulls a few representative posts and quotes from the most interesting clusters so you can hear the audience in their own words.
- Drafts 3 to 5 ready-to-pitch content briefs, each with a working title, the underlying audience tension, a suggested format, key data points to cite, and one or two quoted social voices.
- Drops the briefs into a fresh Google Doc and posts the link in your editorial Slack channel so editors can react and pick what to commission.
What do I need to use this?
- An Infegy Starscape subscription with API access enabled.
- A Google account with permission to create Google Docs.
- A Slack workspace and the channel where your content team plans the editorial calendar.
- A short description of your category, brand, or topic area to seed the search.
How can I customize it?
- Change the cadence (for example daily for fast-moving news cycles, or every other Friday for slower content calendars).
- Adjust the lookback window from 14 days, the number of briefs produced, or the categories and keywords used to scope the social search.
- Swap the Slack channel, mention specific editors, or change the tone and format of the briefs to match your house style.
