Every Monday at 9am in my local timezone, curate the previous week's VideoAsk testimonial responses and turn the strongest ones into publish-ready social proof plus personalized thank-yous.

Step 1. Pull the data. Use VideoAsk's List Forms to find my testimonial-collection forms (match on title keywords like 'testimonial', 'review', or 'story', and let me override the list later). For each form, call List Form Contacts with include_answers=true and filter to contacts with status=completed whose interaction timestamp falls inside the previous calendar week (Monday through Sunday, in my timezone).

Step 2. Score each response. Read the transcribed text of every answer and score the whole response on a 1 to 5 scale for testimonial usability, judging four things: specificity of the story, whether a concrete outcome or result is mentioned, emotional resonance, and brand fit. Extract the single most quotable sentence as the pull quote, propose a short caption (under 20 words), and suggest one channel to use it on: website, LinkedIn, or email footer.

Step 3. Thank the strong ones. For any testimonial scoring 4 or higher, use Gmail to write a personalized thank-you email to that contact. Thank them by name, reference the specific thing they said (not a generic 'thanks for your feedback'), and ask for permission to use the clip publicly. Default to Gmail's Create a Draft so I can review before sending; expose a flag to switch to Send a Message for auto-send once I trust it.

Step 4. Post the weekly recap. Use Slack's Send a Message to post to my marketing channel (#marketing by default, configurable). Include a ranked list of the top testimonials of the week with: pull quote, score out of 5, customer name, a link back to the VideoAsk conversation, the suggested channel/caption, and whether a thank-you email was sent or drafted. If nothing scored 4+, still post the recap and say so, showing the top 3 responses anyway.

Skip anything already processed by tracking previously handled VideoAsk contact IDs in workflow state so re-runs never double-email a customer or double-post a quote.

Trigger: cron, weekly, Monday 9am local time. VideoAsk isn't a poll provider, so cron is the right choice.

What does this prompt do?

  • Pulls last week's completed VideoAsk responses across your testimonial forms and reads what customers actually said.
  • Scores each response on how quotable it is (specificity, outcome, emotion, brand fit) and pulls out the single strongest pull quote.
  • For any response worth using, drafts a personalized thank-you in Gmail that references the specific thing the customer said and asks for permission to reuse the clip.
  • Posts a ranked recap in your marketing Slack channel with the top quotes, scores, customer names, links to each clip, and whether a thank-you was sent.

What do I need to use this?

  • A VideoAsk account with at least one testimonial-collection form and last week's responses.
  • A Gmail account you want the thank-you emails to come from.
  • A Slack workspace and the marketing channel where the weekly recap should land.

How can I customize it?

  • Change the schedule from Monday 9am to whatever cadence fits your marketing rhythm.
  • Raise or lower the score cutoff for what counts as a 'send it' testimonial.
  • Switch between drafting the thank-you for review versus sending it automatically, and swap the Slack channel.

FAQs

What counts as a 'strong' testimonial?
Each response is scored 1 to 5 on specificity, outcome mentioned, emotion, and brand fit. Anything scoring 4 or higher is treated as ready to use and gets a thank-you email plus a callout in the Slack recap.
Will it email the same customer twice if they show up in a future run?
No. The workflow tracks which respondents it has already processed and skips them on future runs, so you never double-thank someone.
Can I have it review the emails before they go out?
Yes. You can point it at Gmail's draft mode instead of send, so every thank-you lands in your drafts folder for a quick review before you hit send.
What if none of last week's responses are strong enough?
You still get a Slack message on Monday. It just tells you nothing crossed the bar and shows the top scoring responses anyway so you can decide.
Do I need a specific Slack plan or VideoAsk plan?
Any paid Slack workspace and any VideoAsk plan with API access will work. You connect each account once and Geni handles the rest.
