Weekly YouTube niche radar to Slack
Every Monday morning, your team gets a Slack digest of trending topics, low-competition keywords, and breakout channels in your niche.
Every Monday at 8am in my timezone, send my team a Slack digest covering this week's YouTube opportunities in our niche so we can plan content with real data.
Trigger: cron, weekly on Monday at 8am.
Inputs to set when I install the workflow:
- Niche or category (for example, 'n8n automation') - Target region (for example, 'US') - Slack channel to post into
Pull the raw signal with vidIQ:
- vidIQ Trending Videos for our category and region - vidIQ Breakout Channels for our niche - vidIQ Keyword Research on the niche's top phrases
Rank everything by opportunity (high search volume paired with low competition first). Strip duplicates and obviously off-topic noise before writing anything.
Write a single digest with three sections:
1. Trending topics worth covering this week 2. Low-competition keywords we can realistically rank for 3. Emerging channels to watch
For each item include a short, one-line rationale so the team knows why it made the list (for example, the search volume and competition score for keywords, the momentum signal for breakout channels).
Post the digest to the configured Slack channel using Slack Send a Message. Format with clear section headers and short bullets using Slack mrkdwn (*bold* for headers, not **bold**). Keep it scannable. No walls of text.
Additional information
What does this prompt do?
- Runs every Monday at 8am and posts a one-message digest to your team's Slack channel.
- Surfaces three lists: trending topics worth covering, low-competition keywords you can realistically rank for, and emerging channels in your niche to watch.
- Ranks every item by opportunity (high search volume paired with low competition) and strips duplicates so the digest stays short.
- Adds a short reason next to each pick so the team knows why it made the cut.
What do I need to use this?
- A Slack workspace and the channel you want the digest posted to.
- A vidIQ account with API access (used for trending videos, breakout channels, and keyword research).
- Your niche or category (for example, 'n8n automation' or 'home barista') and your target region.
How can I customize it?
- Change the day or time (Sunday night, weekdays at 7am, whatever fits your planning cadence).
- Swap the Slack channel, post it as a DM to one person, or send it to several channels at once.
- Adjust the niche, region, or how many picks appear in each section of the digest.
