Home inbox notifications and iPhone push alerts for runs

Notices used to sit behind a bell, apart from the conversations and runs they were about. They're now rows in the Home inbox: unread ones appear in Unread on the dashboard and in Activity on the iPhone app, next to conversations and paused runs, and every notice is kept in History. Alongside the move, the iPhone app gained push notifications, and workflows learned to tell you when a live run fails or stops to ask you something.

How it works

  • Per-member channel switches. Settings has one switch per event and channel (email, Slack, push), grouped into Specialists, Operations, Billing, Digests, and Sharing, the same on the dashboard and the phone.
  • Push that respects what you've seen. A push waits five seconds and is sent only if the item is still unread, so a conversation you're watching never buzzes your phone.
  • Failed runs, announced once. When a live workflow run fails, its owner gets an inbox notice, email, and push linked to the run. Notices stop at five per workflow per day, and failures caused by our own deploys don't notify.
  • Paused runs reach every channel. A paused run notifies on every connected channel by default; email and Slack wait a minute, so a question you answer right away never reaches your inbox.

Also shipped

  • Emails about a run name its specialist as the sender, like "General Input - Invoice Chaser."
