Browser notifications and an unread dot on the tab
Notifications used to reach only the iPhone app. Now a browser can show them too: turn them on in Notifications settings and your computer shows a notification when a specialist finishes, needs your answer, or something new lands in Unread. And while anything in any of your workspaces is unread, the General Input tab wears a small red dot, so you can tell from another tab that something is waiting.
How it works
- One switch per browser. Settings › Notifications has a This browser switch. Turning it on asks your browser for permission once. Each browser is turned on separately, and signing out turns it off there.
- A column of its own. Browser sits beside Email, Slack, and Mobile app, so you choose which events reach your desk. It starts on for every event the mobile app pushes, and a paused workflow set to "All connected" uses it too.
- The same rules as push. A notification waits five seconds and goes out only if the item is still unread, so a conversation you're watching stays quiet. One older than an hour is dropped rather than shown late. Clicking it opens the conversation, run, or notice in its workspace, and reading something closes its notification.
- The dot matches the phone's badge. It counts unread items across all your workspaces and clears once you've read them.
- Where it works. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on a Mac. On iPhone and iPad, a browser shows notifications only once General Input is added to the Home Screen.
