Notion connects in one click, no token to paste

Connecting Notion used to mean creating an internal connection in Notion's developer settings, copying its token into General Input, and then sharing every page with that connection by hand. Now you click Connect, sign in to Notion, and choose the pages General Input can use. That's the whole setup for Notion, and you don't need to be a workspace owner to do it.

How it works

  • You pick pages while you connect. Notion shows its page picker during sign-in. Choosing a top-level page covers everything inside it, and you can add more pages later from a page's Connections menu in Notion.
  • One connection per workspace. Connecting the same Notion workspace again updates your existing connection instead of adding a second one.
  • Token connections keep working. Connections made with a pasted token are now listed as Notion (API Token). Workflows that use them run as before, and you can switch to the one-click connection whenever you like.
  • Templates ask for it first. The Customer Reply Drafter template and the SaaS Short Video Producer specialist now use the one-click Notion connection, and the drafter still accepts Notion (API Token).

Also shipped

  • On Notion Enterprise plans, workspace owners can limit which connections members add, so a member there may need their owner to allow General Input first.
