Changelog
Specialists notify your team, and only your team
Specialists, workflows, and apps can now send notifications to the people in your workspace. A notification always lands in the recipient's inbox in General Input, on the web and in the iPhone app, and can also go out by email, phone and browser push, or Slack, on whichever channels that person has turned on. Agents can no longer email anyone outside your workspace from General Input's address. To write to a client or a vendor, they send from your own connected mailbox, such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, or IMAP, so the mail comes from you.
How it works
- Who can be reached. "Me" (whoever started the run, the workflow's owner for a scheduled run, or you when you ask in a conversation) or any active member of the workspace, up to 10 people per message.
- Limits. A run sends at most 5 notifications, and one sender reaches any one person at most 20 times a day. A retried send goes out once.
- Test runs. A test run or an editing conversation reaches only the person testing it, with "Test:" before the title.
- Reading one. Each message opens on its own page on the dashboard and on iPhone, with a button to the run, app, or link it points to. The email's link opens the iPhone app when it is installed.
- Your settings. Notification settings gain a Messages from your agents row, with a switch for each channel.
Also shipped
- The Send email service now refuses any address that isn't a workspace member. Workflows that email teammates keep working.
- Workflow settings can ask for a workspace member, checked against the member list.
- Code workflows, app handlers, and API keys send the same notifications through the developer API.
