geni CLI 0.20.0 adds deliverables and specialist folders

The geni CLI caught up with deliverables and the specialist file system. A coding agent or a script can now make a deliverable, see deliverables wherever it lists workflows and apps, and keep a specialist's shared files in folders. Version 0.20.0 is also the new minimum: the API asks older versions to upgrade instead of answering them, so a script never runs against commands that changed under it. Run geni upgrade, then geni skills install to refresh the skills your coding agents load. See the developer page.

How it works

  • Deliverables. geni resource create --type deliverable scaffolds a deck, one-pager, report, or graphic, and geni skills load deliverable loads its contract and a worked example. Resource, specialist, and sharing commands name deliverables beside workflows, apps, and skills.
  • Folders in a specialist. geni specialist files gains mkdir, rmdir, rename, and mv. Move files, folders, workflows, apps, deliverables, and skills into a folder, or pass / for the top level. Removing a folder moves what it held up a level and deletes nothing.
  • Minimum version. The API answers any geni older than 0.20.0 with an upgrade prompt and its own exit code. geni upgrade installs the new release when the CLI came from npm.

Also shipped

  • --type design and --kind design still work and mean deliverable.
  • --icon and --remove-icon are gone from geni specialist create and update, since specialists no longer have an emoji icon.
