When a new deal is created in HubSpot in a target pipeline, I want an agent to research the buyer and drop a ready-to-use briefing on the record so the rep does not open the deal cold. The whole point is that Claude writes the briefing directly from what HubSpot already knows about the deal and company. Do not add any other research or enrichment service.

Trigger: a HubSpot webhook when a new deal enters the target pipeline. Make the pipeline configurable at launch, and also let me set a minimum deal amount threshold so we skip small deals and keep research costs sane.

When it fires, the agent should:

1. Call HubSpot Get Deal on the new deal to pull the amount, deal source, stage, and associations. If the amount is below the configured threshold, exit early without doing anything else.

2. Call HubSpot Get Company on the associated company to pull firmographics like name, domain, industry, size, and description. If there is an associated primary contact, pull it too for name and title context.

3. Call Anthropic Create Message and ask Claude to research and write a buyer briefing under 400 words covering: recent company news and funding, headcount and growth signals, likely pain points given the deal source and amount, and exactly three tailored talking points the rep can lead the first call with. Pass the deal amount, deal source, company name, domain, industry, and any relevant deal properties as context so Claude has something to reason from.

4. Call HubSpot Create Note with the briefing as the note body, and associate it with the deal so the writeup lives on the record. Keep the note under 400 words.

5. Call Slack Bot Send a Message to the deal owner with a short recap. Format it as the three talking points rendered as bullets, plus a link back to the HubSpot deal. Do not paste the full briefing into Slack. Send it to the deal owner's DM by resolving their Slack account from their HubSpot owner email, and let me fall back to a configurable channel if that lookup fails.

Use Anthropic exclusively for the research step. The value of this workflow is that Claude produces the whole briefing from HubSpot data alone.

Additional information

What does this prompt do?
  • The moment a qualifying deal hits your pipeline, Claude reads the company and primary contact from HubSpot and writes a short buyer briefing.
  • The briefing lives on the deal itself as a note, so anyone opening the record sees the context without hunting through tabs or docs.
  • The deal owner also gets a Slack message with the top three talking points and a link back to the deal.
  • Only fires on deals above the amount threshold you set, so you spend research effort where it matters.
What do I need to use this?
  • A HubSpot account with permission to view deals and companies and to add notes to deal records.
  • An Anthropic (Claude) account, so we can generate the briefing.
  • A Slack workspace with a channel or DM where the deal owner should receive alerts.
How can I customize it?
  • Change the deal amount threshold so only larger opportunities get a briefing and small ones stay untouched.
  • Point it at a specific pipeline or deal source so only the leads you care about get researched.
  • Tune what Claude focuses on, whether that is recent funding, hiring signals, competitive incumbents, or a specific list of talking points.

Frequently asked questions

Will this fire on every new HubSpot deal, even tiny ones?
No. You set a minimum deal amount when you launch it, and anything below that threshold is skipped. This keeps research costs sane and focuses attention on real opportunities.
Where does the briefing actually show up?
On the deal record in HubSpot as a note attached to the deal, so it is the first thing a rep sees when they open the record. A short version with the top three talking points also lands in Slack for the deal owner.
Does this work if my team is on HubSpot Free?
Yes. It uses standard deal, company, and note actions that are available on every HubSpot tier.
How does Claude know what to research?
The workflow feeds it the deal amount, the deal source, the associated company, and the primary contact from HubSpot. Claude writes about likely pain points, recent company signals, and three tailored talking points from there. You can adjust the angle in the prompt.
Can I send the Slack recap to a shared channel instead of the deal owner?
Yes. You can point the Slack step at a shared sales channel, an account-specific channel, or a specific person's DM.
