Daily TikTok Ads performance digest in Slack
Every weekday at 8am, get an AI written recap of yesterday's TikTok Ads spend, CTR, and ROAS with winners and losers ranked, posted straight to Slack.
Every weekday at 8am (my local timezone), run a daily TikTok Ads performance digest and post it to Slack.
How to build the report each run:
1. Use the tiktok-ads Get Campaigns operation to list active campaigns for my advertiser account.
2. For each active campaign, use the tiktok-ads Run Synchronous Report operation to pull yesterday's metrics: spend, impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, conversions, CPA, and ROAS. Also pull the trailing 7 day window (excluding yesterday) for the same metrics so we have a baseline to compare against.
3. Call the tiktok-ads Get Advertiser Balance operation once per run so the digest can flag if the ad account is running low on funds (say, less than 3 days of average spend remaining).
How to rank campaigns:
- Winners: ROAS well above target and either stable or improving. Call these out as worth scaling.
- Watching: mid-pack ROAS, no strong signal either way. Keep on the list but don't dwell.
- Losers: spend up while ROAS or CTR is trending down versus the 7 day baseline. Flag these clearly.
If I haven't told you my ROAS target yet, ask me once during setup and remember it. Sensible defaults if I skip: target ROAS 2.0, healthy CTR 1.0%.
How to post the digest:
Use the slackbot Send a Message operation to post one message to the #tiktok-ads channel. Make it tight and skimmable, one post, no walls of raw numbers. Structure it like this:
- A short executive summary paragraph at the top (2 to 3 sentences): total spend yesterday, blended ROAS, and the biggest movers in plain English.
- A Winners section listing campaign name, spend, ROAS, and a one-line reason.
- A Losers section listing campaign name, spend, ROAS or CTR change vs the 7 day baseline, and a one-line reason.
- A Watching section (short: just names and headline numbers).
- A single balance line if the ad account is running low, otherwise omit it entirely.
Use Slack mrkdwn formatting (bold section headers, bullet points). Round numbers to whole dollars and one decimal for ROAS. Skip any campaign with under $10 in yesterday's spend so the digest stays focused on what matters.
If there was zero spend across the account yesterday, post a single line saying so instead of an empty template.
Additional information
What does this prompt do?
- Pulls yesterday's spend, impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, conversions, CPA, and ROAS for every active TikTok Ads campaign, plus a 7 day comparison window for context.
- Ranks campaigns into winners worth scaling, a watching list, and losers where spend is up and returns are down.
- Flags when your TikTok Ads account balance is running low so campaigns don't stall overnight.
- Posts the whole digest as one tight, skimmable Slack message in your #tiktok-ads channel, no walls of raw numbers.
What do I need to use this?
- A TikTok Ads Manager account with access to the campaigns you want to report on.
- A Slack workspace where you can install a bot and a channel like #tiktok-ads for the digest to land in.
- Rough performance benchmarks (target ROAS, healthy CTR) so the agent knows what counts as a winner or loser.
How can I customize it?
- Change the schedule. Move the digest to 7am, run it seven days a week, or send a weekly recap on Monday mornings instead.
- Pick a different Slack channel or send it as a DM to the growth lead, and adjust who gets pinged when the account balance is low.
- Tune the winners and losers thresholds, the comparison window (7 vs 14 vs 28 days), or which metrics show up in the top line summary.
