Build me an expansion worklist app for our account executives. It turns recent revenue growth signals into a board the team actually works through, one account at a time, rather than a report someone reads once and forgets.

The main view is the expansion board. Pull recent MRR affecting events from ChartMogul with List Activities across a lookback window the user controls, group those activities by customer, and keep the accounts whose MRR grew over that window. Rank the board by the size of the MRR increase, largest first, and hide anything below a minimum MRR change threshold the user sets so small noise does not fill the board.

Enrich every account card. Use List Customer Subscriptions (Metrics) in ChartMogul for the customer's current plans and current MRR. Use the ChartMogul LTV metric to show lifetime value context next to the growth number, so a rep can tell a big account from a small one that happened to jump. Then match the account in HubSpot: Search Companies for the company record and its owner, and Search Deals for any open pipeline already attached to that company, so a rep can see whether a teammate is mid deal before reaching out.

Each account is a card a rep can claim. A claimed card shows who took it, and every card moves through the stages new, researching, reached out and closed. Save the claim and the stage per user in the app's own storage so the team can split the list without stepping on each other and the board remembers where everyone left off. Do not write claim or stage back to ChartMogul; this is app state, not billing data.

From a card the rep can act without leaving the app. Add Tags to a Customer in ChartMogul marks the account as an upsell target. Create a Note or Call Log in ChartMogul records what happened on outreach. HubSpot Create Task schedules the follow up, associated to the company and assigned to its owner. Slack Send a Message hands the account to a teammate, with the growth number and the account context already in the message.

Include a secondary filter for accounts that contracted recently, built from the same activity data but keeping the customers whose MRR fell over the window. Use the same card layout and the same actions, so a rep can catch a shrinking account before its renewal comes up.

Put the lookback window and the minimum MRR change threshold in a settings area on the page so the user can retune the board without editing anything. Default to the last 30 days and a sensible floor on the change amount.

One data note: ChartMogul returns monetary amounts as integers in cents, so convert before display and format the current MRR, the change and the lifetime value as proper currency.

What does this prompt do?

  • Finds the customers whose recurring revenue went up recently and ranks them by how much they grew, so the biggest upsell openings sit at the top
  • Fills in every account card with its current plans, current monthly revenue, lifetime value, the account owner from your CRM, and any deals already open
  • Lets each rep claim an account and move it through new, researching, reached out and closed, with the stage saved per person so two people never work the same account
  • Puts the next step on the card: mark an upsell target, log a note or call, schedule a follow up task, or hand the account to a teammate in chat. A second view shows accounts that shrank recently so you can catch them before renewal

What do I need to use this?

  • A ChartMogul account with your subscription billing data flowing into it
  • A HubSpot login, used for account owners, open deals and follow up tasks
  • A Slack workspace, for handing an account to a teammate

How can I customize it?

  • Set how far back the board looks, for example the last 30 or 90 days
  • Set a minimum revenue change so small movements do not clutter the list
  • Switch to the contraction view to work shrinking accounts instead of growing ones, or rename the stages to match how your team sells

FAQs

Does this change anything in ChartMogul?
Only when you ask it to. The board reads your revenue data, and the only things written back are the ones you trigger from a card: adding an upsell tag, or saving a note or call log after you reach out. Who claimed an account and what stage it is in stays inside the app.
Can two reps end up working the same account?
No. Claiming an account marks it as taken on everyone's board, and each person's stage is saved separately, so a team can split the list without stepping on each other.
What counts as an account that grew?
Any customer whose recurring revenue went up during the window you choose, based on the revenue events ChartMogul already records. You also set a minimum change, so tiny movements never reach the board.
Will this work if we do not use HubSpot?
The growth board works from ChartMogul on its own. HubSpot adds the account owner, any open deals and the ability to schedule a follow up task, so it is worth connecting if you use it.
Can I see accounts that are shrinking instead?
Yes. A second filter shows accounts whose revenue dropped over the same window, with the same cards and the same actions, so you can reach a slipping customer before renewal comes around.
