I run an influencer marketing agency and I want an app my account managers open whenever a client asks how a campaign performed. Today that answer takes hours of pulling numbers together by hand before anyone writes a single word of narrative. The app should let someone open any campaign, choose the reporting window, and walk away with a client-ready document instead of rebuilding the same report from scratch every month.

The main view is a list of influencer campaigns pulled from Later Get Campaign Performance, with a date range picker at the top. Each row shows the campaign name, the client it belongs to, and the headline numbers for the selected window: posts, reach, impressions, engagements and engagement rate. Next to the window picker put a comparison period picker, because client reports are almost always framed as this month versus last month. Default the comparison to the period of equal length immediately before the reporting window, and let an account manager override it with a custom range before anything runs.

Every row also carries the report status, which is really the point of the app. If a report has already been drafted for that campaign, show the Google Doc link right on the row along with when it was last refreshed and who ran it. If no report exists yet, say so plainly. An account manager should be able to scan the list and immediately see which clients already have a current report and which are still owed one, so let them sort or filter by report status to bring the stale ones to the top.

Clicking a campaign opens a detail page that assembles everything the report needs on one screen. Show the individual posts from Later Get Post Performance with each creator, platform, post date and its own engagement numbers, sortable so the best and worst performers are both easy to find. Show the channel mix from Later Get Platform Performance so it is clear how the campaign split across Instagram, TikTok and anywhere else it ran. Show estimated media value and return on investment from Later Get Platform Return On Investment. Add a trend line from Later Get Instance Performance Over Time, bucketed by day or by week depending on how long the window is. Render the comparison period figures alongside the current ones, because that delta is what the client actually reads first.

Put a Draft the client report button on the campaign detail page that kicks off a background agent. The agent reads those same Later metrics for both the reporting window and the comparison period, then writes a narrative rather than a dump of numbers. It should cover the headline numbers with the change against the comparison period explained in plain language, the best performing post and why it worked, the worst performing post and what to read into it, the channel mix and where the estimated media value came from, and exactly two concrete recommendations for the next flight. Keep the tone client-facing, which means no internal jargon and no metric names left unexplained.

The agent builds the deliverable in Google Docs. Create the file with Google Docs Create Document, titled with the client, the campaign and the reporting window, then fill it using Google Docs Batch Update Document. Structure the document as a heading, a short executive summary, a table of headline numbers against the comparison period, the post level highlights, the channel breakdown, the estimated media value, and the two recommendations at the end. Note that Batch Update Document applies its requests atomically, so if any single request in the batch is invalid then nothing at all gets written, and inserts shift the indexes of everything after them, so order position dependent requests from the highest index down to the lowest.

Once the document is ready, the agent posts the link into that client's channel with Slack Bot Send a Message, adding a couple of lines of context so the message stands on its own: the campaign, the window covered, the headline result and the link. Let the account manager choose which channel each client maps to and remember that choice per campaign, using Slack Bot List Channels to populate the picker.

The finished document link has to land back in the app on the campaign row, together with the timestamp of the run and who kicked it off, so the list view stays the one place to see which campaigns have a report and how fresh it is. Re-running the report on a campaign should produce a new document and update the row rather than quietly discarding what came before, so keep the earlier links on the detail page as a short revision list.

One important constraint: the Later integration is the Influence Reporting API and it is read only. Every Later route is a GET, so nothing can be created or modified in Later from this app, and every write this app performs goes to Google Docs and Slack instead. A few Later specifics worth building in from the start: metrics is a required parameter on every performance route and only the metrics you request come back, the supported metric names differ from one endpoint to the next so use the list on the endpoint you are actually calling, dates are YYYY-MM-DD in UTC and the window between start and end cannot exceed two years, campaignIds accepts at most 50 ids per request so batch the reads for larger accounts, platform and contentType are mutually exclusive and sending both together is an error, and every response is wrapped as data plus nextCursor so the list routes need cursor pagination to walk through every page.

What does this prompt do?

  • Lists every influencer campaign with its headline numbers for the window you pick, plus a comparison period so this month versus last month is the default framing
  • Opens any campaign to show the individual posts, the split across social platforms, estimated media value, and a trend line across the reporting window
  • One click drafts the client report: a background helper writes the narrative, builds the document in Google Docs, and posts the link into that client's Slack channel
  • Keeps each campaign's report link and last refreshed date on the list, so anyone can see at a glance which clients already have a current report

What do I need to use this?

  • A Later Influence account with reporting access turned on by your Later account team
  • A Google account that can create documents in Google Docs
  • A Slack workspace, and the client channels where finished reports should be posted

How can I customize it?

  • Change the default reporting window and comparison period, in case your clients are on quarterly cycles rather than monthly ones
  • Pick which Slack channel each client's report gets posted into
  • Adjust what the narrative emphasizes and how many recommendations it closes with

FAQs

Can this change anything in our Later account?
No. Later reporting is read only, so the app only reads your campaign numbers. Everything it produces lands in Google Docs and Slack, which means there is no risk of it editing a live campaign.
Do our reports have to be this month versus last month?
That is just the default because most client reports are framed that way. You can pick any reporting window and any comparison period, so quarterly reviews or specific campaign flight dates work the same way.
What happens if we run the report on the same campaign twice?
You get a fresh document, and the campaign row updates to show the newest link and when it was refreshed. Earlier versions stay listed on the campaign detail page so you keep the history.
Do clients get access to the app itself?
No. The app is an internal screen for your account managers. Clients receive the finished Google Doc, which you share with them like any other document.
Is Later reporting access something we can turn on ourselves?
Not usually. Later issues reporting credentials through your account or customer success manager, so it is worth requesting them before you plan to build this out.
