Weekly competitor influencer collab digest in Slack
Every Monday morning, see who your competitors paid creators to post last week, with standout partnerships flagged and the same creator highlighted when multiple brands tap them.
Every Monday at 9am in the workspace timezone, build a competitor influencer-collaboration digest with Modash and post it to Slack so the marketing team can see which creators their competitors tapped last week.
Trigger: cron, weekly, Mondays at 9am.
Inputs to configure at setup:
- A list of competitor brand handles to track (Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube handles, or full profile URLs).
- The Slack channel to post the digest into. Use the Slack Bot integration so the message is posted by the workspace bot, not a specific user.
For each competitor handle in the configured list, the agent should:
1. Call Modash 'List Collaboration Posts' scoped to the past 7 days to pull every new sponsored or branded post that featured the brand.
2. Call Modash 'Get Collaboration Summary' for the same brand to fetch aggregated engagement metrics (averages, per-partner breakdowns). Use this as the baseline for what 'normal' engagement looks like for that competitor.
Then the agent should:
- Group new posts by creator, so a creator who posted multiple times for the same brand is listed once with their posts nested under them.
- Flag any post whose like or view count is above the brand's own recent baseline (use the summary endpoint's averages as the comparison).
- Flag any creator who appears across two or more competitors in the same week, since cross-brand creators are the most actionable signal.
- Skip any competitor with zero new collabs in the past 7 days. Do not pad the digest with empty sections.
Final output: a single Slack message sent via the Slack Bot 'Send a Message' action into the configured channel. Structure it as:
- A 3-bullet 'what changed this week' summary at the top. Cover the biggest engagement win, any creator who appeared across multiple competitors, and any obvious format or platform shift.
- One section per competitor that had new collabs, formatted with the brand handle as a header. For each creator under that brand, list: creator handle, content format (Reel, Story, Post, Short, or Video), headline like or view count, and a direct link to the post. Add a small callout like 'above baseline' next to standout posts and 'also tapped by @brandX' next to cross-competitor creators.
Formatting rules: use Slack mrkdwn (*bold*, _italic_, <url|text> for links), keep bullets short, no em dashes anywhere in the message. If the digest gets long, post the top summary as the parent message and thread the per-competitor sections as replies rather than sending one wall of text.
Additional information
What does this prompt do?
- Pulls every brand partnership your competitor brands ran on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in the past 7 days.
- Highlights posts that beat each brand's own engagement baseline and flags any creator who shows up across multiple competitors.
- Posts a single skimmable Slack message every Monday, grouped by competitor, with creator handles, content format, headline numbers, and a direct link to each post.
- Leads with a 3-bullet 'what changed this week' summary so the marketing team can read the top of the message and move on.
What do I need to use this?
- A Modash account with API access (the Developer page in Modash gives you a token).
- A Slack workspace where the bot can post into your marketing channel.
- A list of the competitor brand handles you want to track.
How can I customize it?
- Change the cadence (daily, twice a week, monthly) or the day and time the digest lands.
- Swap which Slack channel it posts to, or send it as a DM to the marketing lead instead.
- Add, remove, or rotate the competitor handles you track, or narrow the digest to a single platform like Instagram only.
