Every Monday at 8am in my timezone, run a weekly creator roster growth digest for my agency.

Step 1. Read my watchlist from Google Sheets. Use the Get Values operation on the tab named Watchlist in my tracking workbook. Each row has two columns: platform (one of youtube, tiktok, instagram, twitch, twitter, facebook) and handle (the username, channel ID, or @handle for that platform). The rows mix owned channels, competitor channels, and talent we manage. Skip the header row and skip any row missing a platform or handle.

Step 2. For every row, call the matching Social Blade statistics operation: Get YouTube Channel Statistics, Get TikTok Profile Statistics, Get Instagram Profile Statistics, Get Twitch Channel Statistics, Get Twitter Profile Statistics, or Get Facebook Page Statistics. Pass the handle as the query and set the history window to extended so we get at least the last week of daily data. Read the response envelope: confirm status.success is true before using data, and if a single channel errors (404 not found, 402 out of credits, etc.) skip it, note it in the digest, and keep going.

Step 3. For each channel, compute the 7-day change in the primary follower metric for its platform (subscribers for YouTube, followers for TikTok and Instagram and Twitter and Twitch, page likes for Facebook). Also capture the current Social Blade grade and compare it to the grade from the previous week's snapshot in the history tab (if one exists).

Step 4. Post a single Slack digest to the channel #creator-ops using the Send a Message operation. The message should include: a header with this week's date range; a Top 3 Growers section ranked by 7-day follower change with platform, handle, absolute change, and percent change; a Bottom 3 Decliners section in the same shape; a Grade Drops callout listing any channel whose Social Blade grade got worse since last week; and a short two or three sentence narrative on what stood out (a breakout creator, a platform-wide trend across the roster, anyone we should check in on). Format it cleanly with Slack mrkdwn, bold section headers, and a thin divider between sections.

Step 5. Append a dated snapshot row per channel to the History tab in the same spreadsheet using the Append Values operation. Each row should include: run date, platform, handle, current follower count, 7-day change, current Social Blade grade, current rank if available, and a short note for any channel we flagged in the digest. This way the workbook builds its own week-over-week baseline and we can chart it later.

Be resilient about per-row failures. If Social Blade returns an error or a profile is missing, log it inline in the Slack message under a Skipped section instead of failing the whole run, and still append a row to History with the error noted so we know we tried.

Additional information

What does this prompt do?
  • Reads your watchlist of channels and handles from a Google Sheets tab so anyone on the team can edit who gets tracked.
  • Looks up last week's growth for every row across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Twitter, and Facebook using Social Blade.
  • Posts a single Slack digest that ranks the top three growers and bottom three decliners, flags any channel whose Social Blade grade dropped, and adds a short narrative on what stood out.
  • Appends a dated snapshot row per channel to a history tab in the same spreadsheet so the digest builds its own week-over-week baseline.
What do I need to use this?
  • A Google Sheets workbook with one tab listing the channels you track (platform plus handle per row) and a second tab to collect weekly history.
  • A Social Blade Business API account with credits available for weekly profile lookups.
  • A Slack workspace and the channel you want the Monday digest posted to.
How can I customize it?
  • Move the digest to a different day or time, or run it more than once a week.
  • Change which Slack channel or DM receives the recap, and tweak the tone of the narrative.
  • Adjust how many growers and decliners get called out, or add your own criteria like grade drops, view spikes, or follower milestones.

Frequently asked questions

Which creator platforms does this cover?
Social Blade supports YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Twitter/X, and Facebook. Each row in your watchlist tells the workflow which platform to look up for that handle, and you can mix platforms freely on the same roster.
Do I have to track only my own channels?
No. The watchlist is just rows of platform plus handle, so most agencies mix owned channels, competitor channels, and talent they manage on the same sheet.
How do I change which Slack channel the digest posts to?
Edit the destination channel right in the workflow. You can also point it at a DM or a private channel as long as the connected Slack account has access.
Will this burn through my Social Blade credits?
Each profile lookup costs credits and the workflow runs once a week per row, so weekly cost equals the number of channels on your watchlist. Trim the sheet or skip a week any time to save credits.
Where does the historical baseline live?
Every run appends a dated snapshot row per channel to a history tab in the same Google Sheets workbook, so your spreadsheet becomes a growing record of week-over-week numbers you can chart or pivot on later.
